Location Truckee, the hike starts at Skislope Way and Glacier in Tahoe-Donner. It's a 1 mile hike with about 500 ft of climbing. The hike is comperable to Mission peak. I flew the south end of a ridge line that went on for at least 1/2 mile to my right. Wind was 15 +mph and the lift went out as far as I was confortable seeing my 2ft Weasel straight in front. Landing was 1 ft high manaznita or small rocks. Great place to fly.

Here is what the landing area looks like. This is looking north. The ridge is about 1/2 mile long. Can you fly a moldie here?? The landing is down slope and up wind but there are lots of areas with plants that are soft.

San Simeon kiteboarding beach small north-facing slope

Postby 7rider » Tue Aug 14, 2012 8:36 am

At the kiteboarding beach less than a mile north of the Hearst Castle entrance, there's a small north facing bluff at the south end of the cove. Got there at 2:30 PM 8/13/2012 right when the kiteboarders started heading out. Wind picked up from there and had fun with the weasel on the small slope.

Weasel Slope Glider at Pfeiffer State Beach Big Sur

Some great lift from the slope on the north end of the main cove yesterday at noon. Wind died down a bit though when shooting video for the second flight.
