Thank George in Baylands in Saturday

Postby jinhusong » Mon Jun 07, 2010 9:19 pm

That was first time for my son and me to try our Slow Stick. George helped us to get the SS up and saved my almost burned motor.

I picked a wrong size prop (11X4.7) for SK400XT with LiPo 3S1P and TB 18A ESC. George saw smoke and immediately turned down the thrutle and landed the plane.

My son and I went to AeroMicro and got a HiMax2812 (GWS outrunner not carried there anymore). After I got home, I ran the SK400XT with current meter and it looks OK. It got pretty hot after current got 7A.

Now we have 2 motors. I plan to run 400XT with 9X4.7 and use HC2812 with 10X4.7 as backup in case we burned it.

Well, learned a lot and hope to see George and thank him in person.

yes, George is a great help and Great teacher! a little more than 2 1/2 years ago he taught me and my and my son jacob (7 yrs old at the time) on a slow stick. Jacob has been through 100+MPH jets and now onto 3D helicopters. I hold George personally responsible for the diversion of a good chunk of our family income :-) thanks!

Did the TB 18A ESC survive the flight? Good to hear George got it back to ground safely.

+1. George is one of a kind - very nice person, very polite and always always willing to lend a helping hand. He along with Dave helped me get up to speed when I first started out which was not too long ago. Of course most/all of the guys at Baylands are great people to know and be with!!
