Hot Cars and DLGs

Postby Bob.McGowan » Thu Aug 05, 2004 7:49 am

Does anyone have any advice [-X or warnings :-({|= about leaving a DLG in a hot car all day? Please tell us your success story or horror story.
I want to start doing some practice during the week at lunch, but I'm not sure about leaving a vacume baged composite plane in my care all day. I had thought about wraping it in a blanket and cracking the windows: Any thoughts :?:
I really don't want to melt my wing down #-o .

Bob, I store my planes in the car all the time but I cover the car with a white reflective Tyvek type car cover. The inside of the car stays amazingly cool even in the summer sun.

Now that is a good idea I did not think of. Kind of funny though becouse my car looks like a refuge from the junk yard - what will the people at work think when they see me throwing a cover over it  .

Thanks,
Bob

Hot cars and dlg's

Hello Bob,

First, let me be the first to congratulate you on winning the upcoming SVSS DLG and F3J contest :-)

I Carry my DLG everywhere I go two to three days a week. You have seen mine fly, I can't find any damage to the wing from heat. Mostly I break off the elevator or rudder pulling it out of the car...
