Thanks Pete. I think I have nailed down the servos and motor - details to follow. The only other major open issue is the battery situation and I hope to have that sorted out tomorrow. The next generation of LiPolys is going to be the way to go. More on this shortly.

As an aside, since your are a Gas and Jet guy, I was reading about the Toki Micro Turbine. It's about 1lb and is 2" in diameter and 8" in length (including the starter). They are claiming that this little monster can generate 4.5 lbs of thrust !!!!! Imagine the possibilities.

Thanks Walter. I wish I could take credit for the quality of the fuse but truth is the europeans really know how to work with Gelcoat.

Here are a couple of shots of the intake after some cutting, grinding, aligning etc. seems to fit just fine now.

Here is another shot showing the intake. The cockpit will need some work to get it to sit flush against the fuse but I'll get to that later. The next step is to get the two duct halves bonded together and trimmed to fit in the fuse.

Duct halves aligned, epoxied, clamped down and left to cure over night. Sanded the joint to increase the bonding of the expoxy to the duct.

Hi Nick,

When this thread first started and you where asking for ideas in different color schemes, I said to myself.... "Oohhh...No.... don't spend making patterns and spending all that time to trim on a foamie!!! :(" But as this thread progressed and the strip tease pics of your new baby, It made me say " OOOOohhhhh BabY!!!!!!!!"

Nice plane Nick, good luck and build her right 8)

Hey Antonio,

This is most definitely not a foamie and yep I'm going to take my time to get it right. One mistake and she's done for. Thanks for your interest in the project.

Cheers,
Nick
