Thunderbirds Over Baylands

now that would be fun if we could make that
F-16 does the real stuffs. Well, the routine is in real life
but we have to scale down, especially in speed.

This would be awesome.

"Like the 180 degree heading reversal, the vertical Pirouettte showcases
the aircraft supper slow-speed handling characteristics. The maneuver
begins with the aircraft @ 300 feet and 350 kts. A little prior to show
center, the Pilot crisply pulls the aircraft up to the vertical and rolls
90 degrees to orient the top of canopy toward the crowd. When
airspeed decays through 200 knots, full afterburner is selected
and the stick is pushed full forward to bunt the nose over. The aircraft
experiences -1/5 to -2G at this time.

Once the nose is level with the horizon, the pilot immediately pulls
the nose back to the vertical. Similar to the Flat Pirouette, this
pull-push maneuver slows the aircraft down and increases the angle
at which the air flows across the wing. Once the jet is pointing straight up again,
stick and rudders are used to make the jet quickly change direction, or
pirouette, back towards the ground and set up for the next move."

Of course I said I don't know about building any more high powered pushers, and so I ran off and put 650 static watts into my FunJet... but this time with a MicroLogger. Sustained watts in the air is only 400-500, with very short 500-600 peaks. However the FunJet is too big for a 3000Kv motor and a tiny 4.75x4.5 prop -- the efficiency must be so terrible...

How to calculate/measure watts out?

It required concentration, mental stamina, and trust."
